The Joffrey Ballet held its signature fundraising event, Couture & Cocktails, at The Hudson in the South Loop. City scenesters came out in force for an evening of cocktails, auctions, dinner, dancing and fashion courtesy of designer David Meister. The event launches The Joffrey Ballet's 2011-12 season and annually raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the organization's programs and performances.
As I was standing next to J'Marcus Webb, the offensive tackle of Chicago Bears, and Fabrice Calmels, the Joffrey's lead dancer, I thought to myself I could need some growth hormone.
